The Operations Research Society of the Philippines – UST Chapter commenced the first event entitled: “MOVE FORWARD IN AVIATION: Operations Research application in Aviation” to open the series of events on the application of Operations Research in different fields.
The event was held at the UST Central Laboratory Auditorium at 8:00 AM – 12:00 NN last October 24, 2019. Ariel Salvador Jr., the organization President, welcomed the participants and the guest speaker and warmly encouraged them to participate through his opening remarks.
The first speaker, Capt. Bernard Acosta Ramos, an alumnus of UST Industrial Engineering and a flight instructor at Alpha Aviation Group discussed different trends and challenges in Aviation, while Engr. Jeffrey S. Magadia, a Certified Toyota Production Systems Practitioner and TWI-J Trainer, shared his knowledge and insights about the application of Operations Research in Aviation.
As the event came to a close, a question and answer portion was allotted to formally answer the queries of the participants. Patrick Magpantay, the Director for Corporate Relations of ORSP-UST Chapter gave his closing remarks to formally conclude the event.
