MOVE FORWARD IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE was held at the TARC Auditorium on the 8th of November 2019. Organized by project heads: Lj Febrero, Karlos Tomas, Ireson Claveria and Areane Bondad ; in hopes of equipping participants with knowledge suited for Industry 4.0, the Seminar is aimed at providing insights in the utilization of Operations Research in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
The event commenced with the opening remark led by ORSP-UST Vice President for Marketing Communication, LJ Febrero. Starting with jokes and icebreakers, events host Danyael Taguinod and Lorenzo Dysangco filled the participants with laughter as they prepared to introduce the first speaker.
A Data Analysis and Visualization Associate, Sir Christian Ibantez, discussed the IMPACT OF AI in DATA ANALYTICS, its subfield, and applications. Furthermore, Ma’am Millicent Singson, a Senior Business analyst, and Data Scientist at Demand Science Team supplemented the participants with methods and techniques of performing Operations Research and Analytics, Identifying roles and skills, and the implementation of Operations Research in AI technology.
Near the end of the speaker’s respective time, the participants were given time to ask questions to which the speakers gladly replied. As the Seminar nears its end, the participants were asked to come to the stage for a photo opportunity with the speakers.
The Seminar ended with a bang as the participants happily chanted OR MOVES FORWARD, indicating that they have found a new resolve towards continuing their careers in light of Operations Research and its uses in the Artificial Intelligence.
