Sustainability. Stability. Security.

Sustainability.

Sustainability is to exist in this world without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. Nowadays, this ideology of “What does it take to be sustainable” is becoming more recognized as relevant to current events and is somehow really affecting social norms and cogitation to everyday life. Sustainability also plays a significant factor in what we can consider good governance and even in corporate responsibility. Many experts have believed and proven that sustainability is governed. Its principles are heavily centered on the social, economic, and environmental aspects of our society, or better known as the 3Ps: people, profit, and the planet. But why does it matter if something is sustainable or not? The only world we have right now is slowly running out of resources; the more we deplete our planet’s resources, the more we harm it. With this, you may ask, What role does student leaders contribute to promoting sustainability in our organization or our community? One way of doing this is by coming up with projects that follow the 17 United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, which luckily all organizations in our university are already doing. Another way of contributing to a more sustainable future is by encouraging other people in this movement of a more sustainable future since we have the platform and voice out to be holistically good citizens of our nation.

Stability.

A core of organizational stability is what gives people a sense of confidence, protection, and resilience during periods of unpredictable organizational transition, which in turn helps them to stay stable, to behave rationally, and to respond successfully as the situation develops.

Security.

Security in this session is defined as the assured freedom from poverty, security in the future. We always dreamed of having a secure future no matter who you are. We always strived to have a much more comfortable life, and it is an innate goal for anyone. Concerning the topic, sustainability, and nation-building, it is up to us more privileged to help those in need. There’s this sense of fulfillment that we get when we know that we helped people in life, especially if we see the appreciation in their smiles and hearts. The call for the youth to step up to student leadership is essential for nation-building since the youth of today are the future leaders of tomorrow.
