COMMUNICATE.
Communicating is one of the keywords we found striking that day. Notable leaders in society and history are often known as good communicators, people like Bill Gates, Martin Luther King Jr., Winston Churchill, Jack Ma, and many more are successful in life because on how well they are good at how they handle things. A takeaway we got was that “Good communication will lead to good input of ideas.” and we think that, to be able to communicate well with other people is an indication of an effective leader, people are often swayed with the words of an effective leader, people follow, and creates that harmony that makes managing a project a lot easier. We also should know when to compromise because plans do not work all the time due to a lot of factors. We encourage you to join extracurricular activities because we think it enables a student to be good at communicating since it allows you to work with other people.
CONNECT.
Another word that comes up in our mind when we are talking about Project Management is “Connect”. Connect means to join, to link, to unite, or to establish communication. Connecting is often associated with networking and is something we believe is handy when it comes to organizational affairs. Connecting with other people enables us to build bridges with others, and to be able to build these bridges makes it better and easier for an organization to work. We believe that Connecting isn’t a one-time task that you can just set aside after establishing that connection, you need to develop and maintain these connections to be able to succeed well. Connecting doesn’t only help you in contributing to your organization but also is a way for you to benefit personally. Joining student councils, interest organizations, political parties, and associations found in your local community are some examples of where you can find and establish these connections that you may find helpful for you.
COLLABORATE.
Collaborating is something inevitable with Project Management. Collaboration is present in all aspects of Project Management. Collaboration is evident in brainstorming and questions like “What is its purpose? What are the goals of this project? Are the goals SMART and CLEAR? Is it feasible? What are the roles of each people working on this project? How will it affect the better good of many?” are some questions thought and discussed in managing a project. A takeaway we got that we can relate to the previous statement is that “There are no ‘bad’ ideas.” Any idea is a possible brilliant idea for a project. Another takeaway, that strikes to us is that “Planning will be for nothing without good execution.” A good student leader frequently collaborates with others which hones and develops their skills.
